Have something to say?

Submit your writing to be considered for publication on the Forum.

Students and other readers can appear here in their own name. Submissions are emailed to the editor, then accepted or declined on the review page.

Submission guidelines

  • Attack ideas, not people. No harassment, slurs, threats, or doxxing.
  • State the strongest version of the view you disagree with, or say you cannot yet.
  • Do not invent facts. If you are unsure, say so in the piece.
  • We may edit for length and house style. We will not publish a claim we know is false.

Writing requirements

  • 800–2,000 words for essays and articles; shorter for letters and discussion notes.
  • A headline that is a claim, not a vibe.
  • Your real first name and affiliation (school is enough).
  • One civic or political question the piece is actually about.

How publishing works

  1. 01

    Draft

Write in your own name. Mark claims you cannot source.

  2. 02

    Submit

Choose a category and topic. You are asking to be published, not posting live.

  3. 03

    Review

An editor reads for clarity, harm, and whether the other side is fairly stated.

  4. 04

    Published — or not

Accepted pieces appear on the Forum. Declined pitches get a note, not a public score.

Submit

Category and topic are required so the Forum can file the piece if it runs.
